The draft develops those ideas further.
The idea of service units at the top of the
tunnel comes from the Trenton Bath House by Louis Kahn, I hope those units
could work as a copy of the chambers down under and will not become too
outstanding. This could help to keep the site feels like untouched and maintain
its monumentality.
There are ideas of reconstruct one of the
coal loader and the railway of one of the tunnel to reinforce the idea of
education.
There are two metal frame staircases at
both end of the tunnel.
Some chambers had been connected together
in order to create a larger space, and some cubic space had also been create
for the same reason.
But some of those designs do not work. There are too many elements and will limited
the available space. The rail is not a bad idea but it seems it will mess the
site up… Sometimes, “Less is more.”
